The Yass Golf Team secures a strong 4-2 win over the RMC Team in the final of the Handicap Division on a sunny, but cool, breezy day at the Goulburn Golf Course on Sunday 6th April. As Yass Captain Graham Fleming noted in his acceptance speech, this is a “four-peat” for Yass, but somewhat of a surprise – as prior to this match RMC had been undefeated for the whole season — and were obviously favourites going into this match. A strong 6&5 win to Yass #2 Logan Blundell, a 5&3 win to Yass #1 Tim Smith, a 4&3 win for #4 Nick Pollack and a 2&1 win to Chris Blundell was all that was required. Tim Crampton #5 and David Bellas #6 were the two winner for RMC.
I thanks Goulburn for hosting the match for the DGA and presenting a great course for this final. Preferred lies were in place, through the green, and were often used, but the greens were excellent (as usual).
