Super Seniors Trophy Comes to Royal Canberra — report from match referee LesWallace.
Fairbairn Golf Club kindly hosted the final of the 2025 Super Seniors Pennant between Royal Canberra and Yowani’s #1 team on Thursday 3 April. Both teams had finished the preliminary rounds at the top of their respective pools.
With Yass Golf Club winning this new trophy in its first two years, two Canberra teams vied for the honours this year on a typical autumn great day for golf.
After a briefing from Fairbairn captain Gary Paige, Yowani held a slight upper hand after all matches had played through the newly-rebuilt 6th hole. Honours were more even after 9 holes, then Royal Canberra began to pull ahead to claim the trophy with a solid 4.5-1.5 win.
